Refund and Returns Policy
This policy applies to purchases made via the Sports Centre website unless otherwise stated.
1. Change of Mind Returns
- If you simply change your mind (for example size, colour, style is not what you expected), you may return the item within 30 days of delivery.
- To be eligible:
- The item must be unused, in original condition (with all tags, packaging, accessories intact).
- It must be returned in its original packaging.
- Proof of purchase (order number, invoice) must be provided.
- You will receive a refund to your original payment method, or store credit (depending on your preference and our policy).
- Return shipping costs for change of mind returns are borne by the customer.
2. Faulty, Incorrect or Damaged Items
- If you receive a faulty, damaged, or incorrect item (i.e., does not match description or has a defect), you are entitled under Australian Consumer Law to a remedy.
- Please contact us within 7 days of delivery (or sooner) to report the issue. Provide your order number, describe the issue, and include photo(s) if practical.
- Once the item is assessed and approved:
- We will offer a replacement, repair, or refund, depending on the nature of the fault.
- We may cover return shipping or provide a prepaid label for genuine faults or errors on our part.
- Normal wear and tear, misuse, or damage caused by the customer may not qualify for a refund or replacement.
3. Non-Returnable / Excluded Items
The following items may not be eligible for return for change of mind (or have limited eligibility):
- Personalised or customised garments or items (e.g., custom teamwear) once production has commenced.
- Items in the “Hygiene” category where opening the packaging compromises hygiene (e.g., swimwear, undergarments) unless faulty.
- Clearance / final sale items (unless faulty) specify your store’s name.
- Gift cards / e-vouchers (not refundable).
- Items returned after the specified time frame or not in original condition.
4. How to Return an Item
- Contact our Customer Service team sport@sportscentre.com.au and quote your order number and reason for return.
- We will provide you with a return authorisation and instructions (including return address).
- Pack the item securely (including any original packaging) and send to the specified address. For change of mind returns: you are responsible for the shipping costs and the risk of loss in transit until we receive the item.
- Once the item is received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome (approved/rejected).
- Refunds will be processed back to the original payment method (or as store credit, if chosen) within a reasonable timeframe (typically 5-10 business days of approval).
5. Refund Processing
- For a valid return, refunds cover the cost of the item only (unless the return is for a faulty or incorrect item).
- Original shipping charges are not refundable for change of mind returns.
- If you paid for expedited shipping and the item is returned for change of mind, that cost is likewise non-refundable.
- Refunds typically appear in your account within 5-10 business days after we approve the return; bank or card processing times may add delay.
- If you paid with Gift Card / Store Credit, refunds may be issued as new store credit per business policy.
6. Exchanges
- If you wish to exchange an item (e.g., for a different size or colour), this can be treated as a return of the original item (per the return criteria) plus a new purchase of the replacement item.
- At this stage we may not hold the replacement item until we receive your return.
- Shipping costs for the replacement and return may apply (or be waived at our discretion).
7. Order Cancellations
- If you wish to cancel your order before it has been shipped, please contact us immediately.
- Once the item has shipped, the return process above applies.
- In some cases, cancellation fees (for payment processing) may be applied.
